Event: Group Viewing of EWTN’s live coverage of the Funeral Mass for His Holiness, Pope Francis
Join us at Saint Isidore Parish in Quakertown to watch EWTN's live coverage of the Funeral Mass for His Holiness, Pope Francis. The Funeral Mass is scheduled to begin on Saturday morning at 4:00 AM local time (10:00 AM Rome time). Doors will open at 12:00 Midnight of Saturday morning. During the hours leading up to the Funeral Mass, we will offer prayers together, watch a documentary covering Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia in 2015 for the 8th World Meeting of Families, and, of course, there will be plenty of strong coffee and tasty treats to share. Event: Solemn Memorial Mass for His Holiness, Pope Francis
All are most welcome to Saint Isidore Church in Quakertown to join in offering a solemn celebration of Holy Mass and pray for the happy repose of the soul of Pope Francis. Though, certainly, we have all been praying for the happy repose of Pope Francis’ soul since we received the news of his passing on Monday morning of the octave of Easter, due to his death taking place within the octave, Monday April 28th is the first opportunity for us to offer a full liturgical celebration of a ‘proper' Mass for the Dead. [To be clear; in this context, ‘proper’ means that we will be able to make use of the orations, readings from Scripture, and sacred music, etc... appropriate to a Mass for the Dead.] This Mass will be immediately followed by the recitation of the holy rosary for Pope Francis and imploring the Holy Spirit to pour forth His blessings upon the Church in the days ahead through the upcoming conclave and the future ministry of Pope Francis’ successor.
