We see this in [the] Gospel, which takes us to the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus began the mission he received from the Father: to be a “fisher” of humanity in order to draw it up from the waters of evil and death. Walking along the shore, he had called Peter and the other first disciples to be, like him, “fishers of men”. Now, after the resurrection, it is up to them to carry on this mission, to cast their nets again and again, to bring the hope of the Gospel into the “waters” of the world, to sail the seas of life so that all may experience God’s embrace.

Welcome, Xhonanita!
I am pleased to introduce you to our new staff member, Xhonane Olivas Sweeney. Xhonane, also known as Xhonanita (Sho-nah-nita), serves in the Office for the New Evangelization as the Coordinator of Missionary Discipleship in Hispanic Communities. Her role is to work with our local Spanish-speaking communities to draw people into personal friendship with Jesus and equip them for mission to those who don’t yet know His love.
Born to a Mexican family, Xhonanita grew up in Pennsylvania and was homeschooled along with her sister and two brothers. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Penn State and a Master’s in Business Administration from Penn West University. She also served as a missionary for one year in Mexico for Kairos. Recently married, Xhonanita and her new husband, Kevin, live in Phoenixville.

Let's Sing with the Pope
The Vatican’s Sacred Music School is helping Catholics around the world sing ancient Gregorian chant through a new initiative called “Let’s Sing with the Pope.” Inspired by Pope Leo XIV’s recent singing of the Regina Coeli from the balcony of St. Peter’s Square, the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, in collaboration with the Dicastery for Communication, is producing short educational video tutorials on social media. The goal is to help the faithful actively participate in liturgical celebrations with the Holy Father. Fr. Robert Mehlhart, OP, who leads the project, teaches viewers how to read and sing simple notes while explaining the meaning of the Latin texts. With nearly one million views in just one week, the response has been overwhelming. This initiative seeks to glorify God through song, and even non-believers are being moved by it; as one commenter wrote, “Father you made an atheist sing with the pope.” Click here for the video lessons

7pm: Holy Mass, Following Mass: Prayer to Receive the Flame of Love by the US National Director, Jill Metz, and Passing the Flame of Love to the Hearts of our Teens from St. Anastasia & Philadelphia Cenacles. Teens are welcome!
